Driver Ed in Provo
Enroll in our Driver Ed program at Timpview High School and build your driving confidence while mastering the rules of the road with our Utah state-approved program.
Enrollment Details
- We only enroll as many students each month as we can accommodate for road driving.
- Priority is given to 12th and 11th-grade students during the school year. No priority is given during the summer months.
- Online Drivers Ed is currently the only course option available.
- Enrollment Opens: The First "A" day of the month at 10:35 am.
- Summers: First Monday of the month at 10:35.
Have this info ready when signing up: Student name, email (to receive updates and communicate with instructors), student ID, and learner permit number.
Program Phases
- Obtain Learner's Permit - Complete all Driver License Division requirements.
- Online Course Instruction - 6 weeks (no extensions beyond 6 weeks; retake fee applies after that).
- Simulator Driving - 2 hours/day for 3 days.
- Behind-the-Wheel - 2 hours/day for 3 days.
- Testing- 1 testing session
- 40 Hours of Parental Driving - Must begin with a permit and be mostly completed before road driving.
Road driving is for refining skills and passing the test, not for learning the basics.
Course Overview
To register, you must:
- Be at least 15 years old
- Have a valid learner's permit
- Live within the Timpview Boundary
- Be under 18 and sign up before graduation.
